ABSTRACT

Liu Shaoqi attached great importance to the investigation and research work of trade unions and made significant contributions to it. First, he regarded investigation and research as a prerequisite for carrying out trade union work; second, he treated investigation and research as a necessary condition for promoting the workers' movement; third, he thoroughly investigated various aspects of workers' conditions and considered their interests; fourth, he adhered to starting from reality and maintaining a sound practice of seeking truth from facts; fifth, he insisted on the working method of coming from the masses and going to the masses. Liu Shaoqi's approach to trade union investigation and research provides important guidance for trade union work in the new era.
