ABSTRACT

The culture-oriented regeneration of the historical and cultural districts has been a significant trend in Europe. In this study, three strategies for regeneration of the historical and cultural district of Taishan are constructed in light of the successful experiences of "European Capital of Culture": "Target-Plan" master planning, "Government-Public" multi-participant organization and "Space-Action" synergy. And some inspirations regarding the regeneration of the historical and cultural district of Taishan are stated tentatively.
